2576439 - 'Tax registration number not valid' Error for General Tax Number for Austria

When maintaining a General Tax Number for the Country Austria you get the error message 'Tax registration number not valid'. This is only valid for the Country AT - Austria.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Tax Management Work Center.
2. Switch to the Company Tax Arrangements View.
3. Highlight the Company ID XXX (where XXX represents the Company ID in question) for the country of the Tax Authority Austria.
4. Press Edit.
5. Switch to the tab Company Tax Arrangements.
6. Change to the tab Tax Numbers.
7. Press Add Row.
8. Select 2 - General Tax Number.
9. Enter Data in any format, for example: tax authority Innsbruck (81) and tax number (242/6575), so for example: 812426575 or AT812426575.
10. You get an error message: 'Tax registration number not valid'.

You need to maintain only the seven digits of the Tax Number, not the 2 digits of the Tax Authority. The Tax Authority will then be derived automatically.

1. Go to the Tax Management Work Center.
2. Switch to the Company Tax Arrangements View.
3. Highlight Company ID XXX country of the Tax Authority Austria.
4. Press Edit.
5. Switch to the tab Company Tax Arrangements.
6. Choose the tab Tax Numbers.
7. Press Add Row.
8. Select 2 - General Tax Number.
9. Enter a seven digit Tax Number, for example 2426575 (see example above).
10. You can see that in Header Finanzamt Innsbruck is displayed automatically.
