Some tips on what this tool can be used for and what not to use it for

Employee Central – Business Configuration

1. Admin Center

2. Manage Business Configuration

2. Employee Profile > View Templates

This tool can be used to edit existing templates like the user data file(basic user file / system directory setting), talent search templates and employee scorecards to name a few

These templates mimic what is in the sucession data model for the templates section and allow you to edit the fields that appear in these templates, without needing access to the data models and provisioning

To edit these templates:

1. Admin Center

2. Manage Business Configuration

2. Employee Profile > View Templates

3. Pick a template

4. Pick the element you want edit

5. Click details

6. Choose what fields you want in the templates and the fields you don’t

7. Save

What not to do

Currently, you should not try and reuse the element id's that are already in the system. For example sysVisibleUserDirectorySetting

If you create a new template using an existing id, then it will overwrite the template that was there originally

For example, if you use this id, and do not build the templates by adding fields to it, then users will no longer be able to login as the User Data File will no longer exist
