2577852 - Person and Employment (as of date) - Direct Report count

Symptom

Customer is reviewing the number of his direct reports via Person and Employment (as of date) report. However, the count is not correct.

When the report is run as of "past" date, the direct report count is incorrect.

Environment

SuccessFactors - Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

1. Navigate to Report/Analytics

2. Create a Person and Employment (as of date) report.

3. Select columns, include Employee Information > Direct Reports.

4. Select a past date in the "as of date". Run.

The result for direct report count will show an incorrect value. For example, the expected count last month was 10 but the report will show 15 (which is the count today).

Cause

Direct Report is not an Effective Dated field from the report. It is an Employee Profile (EP) field and will only show the current value, regardless of the date used as the filter. The as of date filter will only affect all effective dated fields.

Resolution

This is the current system design. All non-effective dated fields will show the current value.

To further explain, the column sets behave as follows:

Non-Effective Dated:
        Employee Information (EP data)
        Person Info (EC data)
        Work Eligibility Info (EC data)
        Emergency Contact Info (EC data)

 Effective Dated (EC data):
        Recurring Pay Component
        Target Pay Component
Job Information (and Country/Organisation related columns)
Compensation Information (and Country/Organisation related columns)
        Addresses (Home Address)
Personal Information (and Country/Organisation related columns)
Employee Pay Group Sums (Pay Component Groups)
