2578369 - Employees Cannot See Their Own Time Account Information

Symptom

Customer enables the permission to a regular employee see their own balances information in People Profile, but when they access "Go to Time Off" option, they cannot see the Time Account Information.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1.  Proxy as the employee and go to people profile page
  2.  Go to Time Off tab
  3.  Select option "Go to Time Off"
  4.  The balances are not appearing

Cause

It can be due permission or because in the Time Profile was hidden the option to show the Time Type in Employee Self Service Scenario.

Resolution

Check if the employees has the right access to Time Account:

  1. Go to the Admin Center
  2. Search for Manage Permission Roles.
  3. Open Employee Self Service (ESS) role and click Permissions and make the entries highlighted below:

  1. Check also the target population to confirm that there are not restrictions for this employee.

If the permissions are correct, follow the next steps:

  1.  Go to Configure Object Definitions
  2.  Search for Object Definition in the first dropdown, then search for Time Account
  3.  Scroll down until you find the option Security

  • In case the option "Secured" is set as NO, then go to the next point.
  • If it is "YES" you need to go to the role and search for the permission category that is generally "Miscellaneous Permissions", search for Time Account and grant the permissions to the object.

Note: Permission Category cannot be set as no selection is Secured is Yes

You have checked the permissions are correct and the security of the object is fixedut the information is still not appearing:

  1. Go to the employee´s profile
  2. Check what is the value that they assigned in Time Profile for that employee
  3. Go to Admin Center
  4.  Manage Time Off Structures
  5. Select Time Profile and select the one you checked in the employee´s view.
  6.  Under "Available Time Type"  select details and you will see that Enabled in employee self-service scenario is set as No. You need to change to YES if you want to exihibit the option in the Employee´s profile
