Resolution
Note: SAP will provide the new tax rates directly in SAP Business ByDesign as of 01.01.2024.
However, it is possible to use the new tax rate types before 01.01.2024:
Additionally,
- you need to create custom tax codes to assign the new tax rate types and
- you need to assign the new tax rate types to the corresponding tax events and form boxes.
Step 1: Find the three new tax rate types in Fine Tuning:
- In the Business Configuration workcenter access the Tax on Goods and Services fine-tune activity (either from the activity list of your implementation project or from the Overview screen).
- Choose Define Tax Rate Schedules.
- Since system version 2311, you find the three tax rate types 7 - Special Standard (8,1%), 8 - Special Reduced (2,6%) , 9 - Special Special (3,8%), all valid from 01.01.2018. (The earlier validity since 2018 is used to make the tax rates types available before 01.01.2024).
- The tax rate percentages can be adjusted in the future if need be.
Step 2: Create Custom Tax Codes and assign the new tax rate types:
- Stay in the Tax on Goods and Services fine-tune activity.
- Under Tax Codes choose Define Tax Codes.
- Press Add row.
- Now set up a new tax code, starting with a letter for CH-Switzerland and the tax event of your choice.
- In the Details table underneath you can assign the tax type, one of the new tax rate types and maintain the tax deductibility.
- Proceed like this for all new tax codes.
Step 3: Set up the Summary Layout - Assign the tax rate types to the tax events and form boxes:
- Access the Tax Returns for Goods and Services - Switzerland &Liechtenstein fine-tune activity (either via the activity list from your Implementation project or from the Business Configuration Overview).
- Choose Product Tax Rerturn Switzerland.
- Choose the Tax Event tab.
- Select the used tax event.
- Under Summary Layout set up the respective tax rate type, percentage, validity and assign one of the new form boxes (303B, 303T, 313B, 313T, 343B, 343T, 383B and 383T).
- Add further tax rate types if suitable.
- Proceed accordingly for all the tax events used for the newly created tax codes.
