Symptom

How to hide fields based on event reasons?

Resolution

  1. Enable the field event-reason in Job Information. You can do it via Succession Data Model or Manage Business Configuration (BCUI).event-reason.png
  2. Create a business rule as per your business requirement. An example rule's screenshot is added below.

  3. Add the business rule to the event-reason field as an onChange rule.
  4. Navigate to an employee's Job Information and Edit by clicking on the pencil icon or by Take Action -> Change Job and Compensation Information or through History (Clock icon) -> Insert New Record.
  5. Notice that the field "Custom Position Title" is available.

  6. Add the effective date, the event and the event reason that is used in the business rule. Now notice that the field is no more available.
