2579806 - "Could not connect to SFTP server" error for Remote File Report Job

When running or scheduling a report and having Remote File as the Report Destination, the job fails. The error below is shown in the Background Jobs tool:

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Go to Learning Administration > Reports >
2. Select a report >
3. Run or schedule the report and select "Remote File" as the Report Destination.

If using the supplied SAP SuccessFactors SFTP information, please review the following:

1. Navigate to System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > Edit the REPORT_SYSTEM configuration file >
2. Validate that the configurations below are correct. Example:

• remoteFtpEnabled=true
• defaultReportFtpConfig.protocol=sftp
• defaultReportFtpConfig.server=sftp8.sapsf.com
• defaultReportFtpConfig.port=22
• defaultReportFtpConfig.path=/FEED
• defaultReportFtpConfig.userID=[SFTP Username]
• defaultReportFtpConfig.password=[Password]
• defaultReportFtpConfig.timeout=60000
• defaultReportFtpConfig.enablePassiveMode=false

3. If specific reports have been configured, validate if the information in the reportFtpConfig.ReportName are correct:
• The [ReportName] section has to be exactly as the name of the report seen in the export screen
• To get the [ReportName], go to Learning Administration > Reports > Search for the Report > Click the Export button > Copy the name from the new screen.

If using an external SFTP that was not provided by SAP SuccessFactors:

1. The above should be vetted. If the issue still occurs, SAP SuccessFactors can place your IP address on an ACL exception entry to be allowed network communication to an external sftp server. Please provide your non-SAP hosted SFTP IP address so that the SAP Support team can engage the SAP Operations team.
