2580431 - Error Message When Releasing VAT Return: 'Error During Elster E-tin Generation For Tax Number'

You want to release a VAT Return but you get an error message: 'Error during Elster e-tin generation for Tax Number ABC' (where ABC stands for the relevant Tax Number).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Tax Management Work Center.
2. Select the VAT Returns View.
3. Show Tax Returns in Preparation, find XXX (where XXX is the Tax Return in Preparation) and press Go.
4. Press Release.

You can see an error message: 'Error during Elster e-tin generation for Tax Number ABC'.

You have to either maintain the E-Tin ID (13 digits) or the tax ID (10 or 11 digits) without special characters in the Company Tax Arrangements View.

1. Go to the Tax Management Work Center.
2. Switch to the Tax Authorities View.
3. Select the Company Tax Arrangements Subview.
4. Highlight the Company ID DEF (where DEF represents the Company in question) and press Edit.
5. Choose the Company Tax Arrangements Tab and select the sub tab Tax Numbers.
6. Under Tax Number maintain the E-Tin number without special characters against the option 5- Tax Numbers.

Release the VAT Return again to check that the Error Message has disappeared.
