2580468 - Expense Service Item is Not Supported in Opportunity

When adding a service item into opprotunity, you get error messages:

• Service product and item type code do not match. Check your service master data to ensure that you have not defined a service product with an item category group for expenses, or vice versa.
• Service product with expense indicator not allowed.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go the New Business work center.
2. Click New Opportunity from Common Tasks view.
3. Enter the account and other mandatory data in the General tab, then go to Items facet.
4. Click Add Row and enter the service item ABC. (ABC represents the ID of the service item)

You get the error messages.

The service ABC is marked as Expense. Expense item types are not supported in the Opportunity. They are supported in the Sales Quote and the sales documents afterwords.

This is the designed system behavior.
