2580574 - Customize formats are not rendered if “Apply Default Formats” is not selected

Symptom

When "Apply Default Format" is deselected, the customize formats are not rendered in Analysis for Office.

Environment

  • SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Microsoft Office 2.5
  • SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office 2.6

Reproducing the Issue

1. Normally, the customize format should be displayed as below:

   ① In Analysis for Office, open a query by clicking on the option "Insert Data Source". Click on "Crosstab", "Apply Default Formats" is selected by default.

   ② Create a new format as below (by right-clicking on the cell or clicking on the "Format Cells" in the toolbar):

   Select a format.png

   ③ The new created format is displayed in the "Design Rules" tab and it is activated. The created format is rendered in the crosstab as below (for example, the background color is changed):

2. If the "Apply Default Formats" is deselected, the result will be displayed as below:

   ① Open a query by clicking on "Insert Data Source". Click on "Crosstab", deselect "Apply Default Formats".

   ② Create a new format by right-clicking on the cell or clicking on the "Format Cells" in the toolbar as Step ② in Part 1.

   ③ Even the new created format is displayed in the "Design Rules" tab and it is activated, the created format is not rendered in the crosstab (for example, the background color does not change):

Cause

The result of Part 2 is a system behaviour. The customize formats are not rendered if "Apply Default Formats" is not selected.

Resolution

It's a limitation that the customize formats are not rendered if "Apply Default Formats" is not selected.
