2581864 - Failed to create/migrate user on Cloud ID tenant error when updating user email address from upper-case characters to lower-case characters in SAP Analytics Cloud

The following error occurs in the Chrome developer tools console log when you update an e-mail address field from upper case to lower case characters in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

• <User ID>: Failed to create/migrate user on Cloud ID tenant - Error

After you click the save button, the user entry is not saved, the warning message states:

• Entry was changed.

• SAP Analytics Cloud

1. Log on to SAC.
2. Navigate to the Security > Users screen.
3. Update the e-mail address field from upper-case characters to lower-case characters (i.e, from AAA@EXAMPLE.COM to aaa@example.com) and then click Save.
   => Error "<User ID>: Failed to create/migrate user on Cloud ID tenant" appears.
4. Try to update another User e-mail Address to lower-case characters while keeping upper-case characters for this user (i.e., User A for AAA@EXAMPLE.COM, and User B for aaa@example.com) and then Save.
   => Same error could be observed.
5. Try to add a new user with e-mail Address as lower-case characters while keeping upper-case characters for this user (i.e., User A for AAA@EXAMPLE.COM, and new User C for aaa@example.com) and then Save.
   =>Error "<User ID>: Failed to create user on Cloud ID tenant: A user with e-mail <lower-case characters> already exists. Please delete the existing user if you would like to add a new user with this e-mail address." appears.

• This is by-design.
• User e-mail Address is not case-sensitive, so both upper-case characters and lower-case characters are for the same e-mail address.

Please assign a unique e-mail address (not case-sensitive) to each user in SAC.
