2582396 - Error Msg 10315 / Msg 17720 raised Changing a password via sp_password - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The SSO tried to change a user's password
  • An error was raised using this syntax:
    sp_password <user's old password>,  <user's current password>, <user's login name>, 1
    Msg 10315, Level 14, State 1:
    Server 'XXX', Procedure 'sp_password', Line 148:
    Invalid caller's password specified, password left unchanged.
    Msg 17720, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'XXX', Procedure 'sp_password', Line 158:
    Error:  Unable to set the Password.
    (return status = 1)
