2582453 - IRidIdService error in KM

The following error can be seen in portal:

• System Error
  An exception occurred during the program execution. 
  Exception message: while trying to invoke the method com.sapportals.wcm.service.ridid.IRidIdService.getIdForRid(com.sapportals.wcm.util.uri.RID) of a null object loaded from field com.sapportals.wcm.repository.service.appproperties.persistence.Persistence.idService of an object loaded from local variable 'this'

• While trying to open /documents repository from Content Administration -> KM Content -> documents, the following error can be seen:

• If you go to System Administration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Management -> Component Monitor -> Services, you can see the following errors:

  1. ridid  -  Service startup failed

  Startup Error: can't find ridIdService
