You are trying to close a fiscal year but the error message 'Cannot close fiscal year XXXX; Balance carry forward not finished' appears.

XXXX means the fiscal year.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Find the fine tune activity Open Fiscal Year and Accounting Periods.
3. Select Company.
4. Press Edit Fiscal Years.
5. Select year XXXX.
6. PressClose Fiscal Year.

The error message 'Cannot close fiscal year XXXX; Balance carry forward not finished' appears.

The Balance Carryforward was not completed, you created the run only for Step 1 - Carry forward accounts.

You need to create the Balance Carryforward Run for Step 2 - Calculate and carry forward profit/loss.
