2584627 - Error Message When Deleting G/L Account from Chart of Accounts: Value in setting Assignment of GL-Accounts must also be entered in setting General Ledger Accounts

• You want to delete a G/L Account in the Fine Tuning activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.
• When you save your changes you receive several error messages:

'Value XYZ* in setting Assignment of GL-Accounts must also be entered in setting General Ledger Accounts'

'Fin.rep. structure ABC** is inconsistent; correct it with export/ re-import'

'Save failed'

*XYZ means the G/L Account ID.

**ABC represents the Reporting Structure ID.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview sub view.
3. Find the Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination activity.
4. Select the hyperlink Edit Charts of Accounts.
5. Select the respective Chart of Accounts and filter for G/L Account XYZ.
6. Click Delete and then Save.
7. Several Error Messages appear such as:

'Value XYZ in setting Assignment of GL-Accounts must also be entered in setting General Ledger Accounts'

'Fin.rep. structure ABC is inconsistent; correct it with export/ re-import'

'Save failed'

The G/L Account XYZ cannot be deleted because it is still used in G/L Account mapping.

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview sub view.
3. Find the Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination activity.
4. Select the hyperlink Edit G/L Account Mapping.
5. Select the respective Chart of Accounts and filter for G/L Account XYZ.
6. Delete the G/L Account mapping.
7. Go back and select the hyperlink Edit Charts of Accounts.
8. When you delete the G/L Account and save the changes no error message will appear.
