2585431 - Invalid Credentials in MAIN_PROFEND/MERGEPROF_REGSRV

Symptom

During an upgrade using the Software Update Manager (SUM tool) an error is faced on MAIN_PROFEND/MERGEPROF_REGSRV phase.

The possible error messages are described on scenarios below:

  • Log file: SUM/abap/log/REGISTER_SERVICE_SHA.LOG

EXECUTING /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/saphostctrl -user <sid>adm - -function RegisterInstanceService -sid <sid> -nr <instance number> -saplocalhost <host> -profile <profile path>

Error: Invalid Credentials

or

Error: HTTP error, HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized
