2585552 - ASE report Invalid column length error after adding a new identity column to a table - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Add a new identity column to a table on a 16K page ASE
  • The ASE errorlog reports "Invalid column length" message and stack trace including following modules:

Invalid column length: 8196. Value must be between 0 and 4 at offset -6 for 'data-only' row with minimum row length of 8.
