2586593 - SAML 2.0: In client &MANDT& no trusted entity for <SID> was found

Symptom

When performing SAML 2.0 authentication, the process fails, and the following the error message can be seen in the SAML 2.0 trace:

SAML20 CX_SAML20: In client &MANDT& no trusted entity for <SID> was found. Long text: In client &MANDT& no trusted entity for <SID> was found.

The error appears in the SAML2 traces which can be collected by following the KBA 2960670 instructions.

Usually, when this failure occurs, a logon screen is displayed, prompting the user to enter their credentials.
