2587246 - Duplicate Key Violation when updating primary key - SRS

Symptom

When updating the primary key column in a replicated table, occasionally the SAP Replication Server (SRS) DSI connection to the replicate database fails with the following error in the SRS log:

ERROR #1028 DSI EXEC(629(1) DS.DB) - neric/dsi/dsiqmint.c(5095)
 Message from server: Message: 2601, State 2, Severity 16 -- 'Attempt to insert duplicate key row in object 'table1' with unique index 'Itable1''.
 Message from server: Message: 3621, State 0, Severity 10 -- 'Command has been aborted.'.


THREAD FATAL ERROR #5049 DSI EXEC(629(1) DS.DB) - neric/dsi/dsiqmint.c(5108)
 The DSI thread for database 'DS.DB' is being shutdown. DSI received data server error #2601 which is mapped to STOP_REPLICATION. See logged data server errors for more information. The data server error was caused by output command #1 mapped from input command #5 of the failed transaction.
