2587336 - Task Description Missing for a Production Task

Production task does not have task description even though element description is maintained in the Bill of Material.

SAP Business Bydesign All versions

1. Go to Production Control work center.
2. Go to Task Control view.
3. Show all and search task XXX (XXX stands for the task ID).
4. You can see that task description is missing.

Production task description depends on two settings in the corresponding Production Model:

1. Task Generation Method.
2. 'Element Description' maintained for BoO.

If you maintain task generation method as 'Reporting Point including Operations and Activities', then whatever description you
maintain for 'Reporting Point' will show as task description.

For method 'Activity including Reporting Point', description maintained for element type 'Activity' will show as task description.

For method 'Operation including Reporting points', description maintained for element type 'Operation' will show as task
description.

1. Go to Planning and Production Master Data work center.
2. Go to Production Models view.
3. Show all and search revelant production model.
4. Click Edit.
5. Go to Bill of Operations tab.
6. Go to BoO strucuture sub-tab.
7. Maintain the element description according to the Task Generation Method you maintained for the production model
8. Click Save and Release the model again.
