2587884 - DSI error Message: 102 when setting connection to new line - SRS

Symptom

Altering a connection in SAP Replication Server (SRS) to use a dsi_cmd_separator = '\n' causes the following errors in the SRS errorlog when resuming the connection:

ERROR #1028 DSI(108 DS.DB) - eneric/dsi/dsioqid.c(2044)
        Message from server: Message: 102, State 181, Severity 15 -- 'Incorrect syntax near '\'.
ERROR #5046 DSI(108 DS.DB) - eneric/dsi/dsioqid.c(2058)
        When executing the rs_get_lastcommit function in database 'DS.DB', received data server errors. See logged data server errors for more information.
The DSI thread for database 'DS.DB' is shutdown
