Symptom
When checking the consistency of a production model, it throws the following error: Conversion of quantity of BoO to quantity of variants not possible.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Planning and Production Master Data work center.
- Select the Production Models view.
- Select the Production Model ID and choose Edit button.
- Select the Check Consistency button.
- It throws the error message.
Cause
As the Unit of Measure maintained in the Quantity field at the Bill of Operation details section is different from the unit of measure maintained for the lot size under the General tab. That is why, it gaves an error message when checking the consistency of the Production Model.
Resolution
You have to maintain the same Unit of Measure(UoM) value in the Quantity field on the Bill of Operation Details section and for the field Lot Size under the General tab. To do so:
- Go to the Planning and Production Master Data work center.
- Select the Production Models view.
- Search for the relevant production model and select it.
- Choose Edit button.
- In the new screen, under General tab, there are fields for Minimum Lot Size and Maximum Lot Size, where you have used one UoM.
- Now go to the Bill of Operations tab and BoO Details sub-tab. There is a field Quantity, for this field you have used some other UoM than what you have used in Step 5. Both the UoMs must be same.
