Symptom
You have maintained a Check Storage for the Company ID ABC (ABC represents the Company ID). But when you create a New Incoming Check, you still get an error message that you did not maintain it:
'No check storage exists for the company. Create a check storage for the company in the Liquidity Management work center. Choose the Master Data view then the Check Storages subview'

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Liquidity Management work center.
- Select the New Incoming Check common task.
- Complete the mandatory fields.
- Click on Post.
Then system reports error: 'No check storage exists for the company. Create a check storage for the company in the Liquidity Management work center. Choose the Master Data view then the Check Storages subview'.
Check master data for Check Storage.
- Go to the Liquidity Management work center.
- Select the Check Storage view.
- Show All Check Storages and find the Company ID ABC.
- See that the status of it is Active. Click Edit, you can see that the Company ID is correct and the Location Type is Bank.
Cause
If Check Storage is maintained as Bank, then it will be used in lockbox processing. If you want to create the incoming checks within the system, you have to maintain the Check Storage with Location Type as Internal.
Resolution
You need to create a new Check Storage for this company. Please follow these steps:
- Go to work center Liquidity Management.
- Select view Check Storage.
- Select New - Check Storage.
- Complete the relevant fields and choose Location Type as Internal.
