2588983 - 'Certificate Path not found'/APNS not functional - BI Mobile

Symptom

  • APNS notifications are not working with BI Mobile, the notifications are not received to the device
  • The following error is seen in the Tomcat MobileBIService logs (MobiWebApp_Server logs):

    Certificate path not found
    java.io.IOException
    at com.businessobjects.mobilebi.server.pushnotification.controller.PushNotificationServlet.init(PushNotificationServlet.java:90)
    at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.initServlet(StandardWrapper.java:1183)
    at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.loadServlet(StandardWrapper.java:1099)
    at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.allocate(StandardWrapper.java:779)

  • This may occur after deploying new APNS certificate and .properties file as per the below SAP Note:
