Symptom
When you are terminating a manager/supervisor, there is a required "Transfer Event Reason" field. Is it possible to default the value or remove this field?
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental
Environment
Employee Central
- Event Reason
- Business Rules for event reason derivation
Reproducing the Issue
Terminate a manager/supervisor and you may find a required "Transfer Event Reason" field
Cause
The transfer event reason is the event reason associated to the manager transfer record for the direct reports and may be required depending on your configuration.
Resolution
- The is no way to deafult the value of this field, it must be manually selected on each termination action.
- The requirement of the field is conditional based on your configuration:
- If you use event reason derivation through XML "Enable youCalc rules engine for HRIS", the "Transfer Event Reason" field is not required and will not be displayed in the Termination portlet. The Transfer Event Reason will be dervived via your xml rules.
-
If you "enable business rules for event reason derivation" the Transfer Event Reason field is not required and will not be displayed in the Termination portlet. The Transfer Event Reason will be dervived via your configured Business Rules.
- If you use neither the xml or business rules for event reason derivation and manually select both Event And Event Reason values in the MSS UI (Change Job And Compensation Information) the Transer Event Reason field will be displayed as a required field in the Termination portlet. There is no option to set this value via business rules as this is a system deleverd field which is not defined in the data model. This field can therefore not be reached via business rules. The field can therfore not be hidden via rules or any other setting in the system.
