2589764 - New external view: Error creating new transport request

Symptom

A new transport request is created after having created an external view, the following error message appears:

Error creating new transport request: while trying to invoke the method com.sap.adt.transport.IAdtTransportService.createTransport(com.sap.adt.tools.core.model.adtcore.IAdtObjectReference, java.lang.String, java.lang.String, bool) of a null object loaded from field com.sap.adt.transport.ui.internal.widgets.TransportSelectionComposite.transportService of an object loaded from local variable 'this'.

But the issue will not happen if the newly-created external view is saved into an already-existing transport request.
