Symptom
'Invalid Entry' error message appears when hovering over Department, Division or Location field in the Job Requisition
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Open a Job Requisition where the Department, Division or Location field is defined as type="enum"
- Hover over the field
- The text 'Invalid Entry' will appears
Cause
Older XML files use type="enum" for the fields Division, Location and Department (this will still work correctly, however "Invalid Entry" will appear in field description on hover).
For new instances setting up a brand new Job Requisition Template with the field type 'derived' which going forward will be correct field type to use - The "Invalid Entry" will not appear on hover in the instances that use 'derived'.
It is still acceptable to use type="Enum", however the above issue will still happen.
Resolution
If currently using type="enum", you will not be able to update your existing Job Requisition template - This will produce errors on upload and will not upload successfully. However new instances should use type= 'derived' in their Job requisition Template in order to avoid this "invalid entry" going forward.
