2593132 - Migrated Sales Campaigns in Status Active Cannot be Modified

Symptom

You are unable to modify Sales Campaigns created via migration with Status Active.

Environment

SAP Sales Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

When you try to modify the Status via UI:

Go to the Sales Campaign workcenter.
Select the Campaigns view.
Choose an Active Campaign.
Under Actions select Set as Cancelled.

Error thrown : "SET_EXECUTION_STATUS not possible; action is disabled" or "Action CANCEL not possible; action is disabled"

When you try to change the Status via Migration tool:

Go to the Business Configuration workcenter.
Open Activity List and Search for Migration of Campaigns.
Open Data Migration Tool.
Try to modify already existing record.

Errors : "Life cycle status code can't be set to in Planning. Currently it's Active."

"Action CANCEL not possible; action is disabled"

"Action CLOSE not possible; action is disabled"

Cause

It is not possible to delete/update any Active Campaigns. Only the Campaigns with the status as Planned can be deleted/updated.

If the Campaigns are migrated with Status Active you cannot perform Set to Cancelled, as revoke activation can only be done while the campaign is running i.e. this action is only enabled while the Campaign is executing and would get disabled when the Campaign has finished execution.

In migration, it is not possible to Cancel or Finish the campaign, as there is no Campaign Type specified in migration template.

Resolution

To Cancel or Finish the Campaigns via Migration Tool:

If the Campaigns are executed externally please migrate the Campaign with Campaign Type as 7 in migration template which stands for External Execution. It is then possible to Cancel or Finish the Campaign.
