2593672 - How to report Involved Parties in Opportunity Using Data Source Opportunity Involved Parties

Symptom

You have created a report based on Data Source Opportunity Involved Parties [CODOPPPTYB], to extract the information from Involved Parties tab, which is located in the Opportunity area. However, you noticed that the fields Party Role, Party and Party role Category brings you results from all tabs from Opportunity, not only Involved Parties. e.g Sales team, involved parties and Sales ORG Data. It makes impossible to only filter your report to obtain the results from involved parties tab.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud For Customer

Cause

The Data Source Opportunity Involved Parties [CODOPPPTYB] is used to get all  of the Involved Parties Maintained in the Opportunities, hence the meaning "Involved Parties" for the Data Source is different from what we have in the UI.   For the Data Source,  it means all of the Parties (Business Partners) are maintained in the opportunities.

For the UI, which means the Tab Involved Parties in the UI Opportunity area, it mostly means external parties. The "Involved Parties" means those parties when assigned role category are "Other Party" and Not Marked as Internal.

Resolution

If you want to use the Data Source Opportunity Involved Parties [CODOPPPTYB], in order to select only the Involved Parties in the UI perspective, you must use the Role category explained which is recognized for UI meaning (Other Party and not marked as internal).
