Symptom
A field in the job requisition configured as a standard field 'mfield' and uses cascading picklists. When selecting the parent value, it always defaults to select all child values, and does not allow job requisition originators to modify selections.
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
-
Go to Home > Recruiting.
- Create a Job Requisition.
- Click on a field configured as an 'mfield', and select a picklist value with children.
- The action will select all available children from the parent picklist value and does not allow for modification of selections for children.
Cause
Improper user handling. As per system behavior, when a parent picklist value is selected, it is always assumed that all children are the correct selections.
Resolution
As per system behavior, mfield requires a primary value to be specified. This is done selecting a value in the right-hand side of field's picklist box. In order to modify selections for child picklist values, click the drop-down arrow on the left side of the parent picklist value on the left-hand side of the field's picklist box.
