Resolution

HRIS Element Identifier, userAccountInfo, is an optional element which can be used to define Employee Information > User Name during the Hire process. By default, userAccountInfo is not turned on. If you wish to use it, you must enable it via Manage Business Configuration.

  1. Go to Manage Business Configuration->userAccountInfo

  • Once turned on the User Name Field is now Mandatory. It cannot be set to not mandatory
  • This field will appear during the Add New Employee process under Employee Information
  • There is validation in place to ensure the User Name is unique

  • Once the employee is saved, the User Name can be seen in their profile and also also reflected in adhoc reporting:

Q) It is not possibe to set field: Username field to Not mandatory or Visibility to View

A) This is not possible - See example of Warning Message below:

The field user-name in userAccountInfo is mandatory. The value of attribute “Mandatory” will be automatically changed to “Yes”.

Additional notes on Username field:

  • You can enter a unique user name for new employees during the hire process. This value is also displayed on the Username field on the Talent Profile page.
  • If this field has visibility=”both”, but no value is entered during the new hire process, the system copies over the value from the Person Id field.
  • This is also the standard behavior if userAccountInfo is not contained in the Succession Data Model.

Q) Where can I get information on this from the Guide?

A) More information on the field can be found in the help guide: Employee Information (hris-element-id: userAccountInfo)
