Cannot access Core Data Services (CDS) View from SAP S/4HANA in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• SAP Analytics Cloud
• SAP S/4HANA

1. Connect to SAP Analytics Cloud.
2. Configure a Live Data Connection to SAP S/4HANA.
   
3. Create a new live S/4HANA model.
4. Notice that some of the basic CDS views do not appear.

SAP Analytics Cloud only consumes Core Data Services (CDS) Views from S/4HANA with certain attributes:

• Contain the "@Analytics.query: true" Annotation
• API-state=released

SAP S/4HANA "On Premise"

• The SAP S/4HANA administrator must use the ABAP Development Tools for SAP NetWeaver to add the "@Analytics.query: true" Annotation to the required CDS Views

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

• In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, a view, namely a query, that is not released for customer usage (API-state=not released) is not available to customers for creating own CDS-views.
• The option for a customer is to create a custom Query on a released CDS-View of type “CUBE”, using the app “Custom Analytical Queries”.
