2595776 - EC-CS 'Real-time update': Clarification on usage of reference ledger

Up to release 7.00 of the software component SAP_FIN or up to release 6.16 of the software component SAP_APPL, only documents posted in the leading ledger of the new general ledger are updated into EC-CS via the data transfer method 'Real-time Update'. This means, documents that are posted in non-leading ledgers only are NOT updated into EC-CS on the aforementioned releases and on earlier releases.

This Knowledge Base Article clarifies two further options in this context:

1. As of release 7.20 of the software component SAP_FIN, or release 1.00 of the software component S4CORE, there is a new option to enable update of documents from a non-leading ledger.
2. As of release 1.02 of the software component S4CORE, there is a new customizing setting, which enables usage of reference ledger for EC-CS data transfer method 'Real-time Update'.

Prerequisite for option 1) is at least
- release 7.20 of the software component SAP_FIN (i.e. product 'SAP Simple Finance, on-premise edition 1503')
or
- release 1.00 of the software component S4CORE (i.e. product 'SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition 1511').

Prerequisite for option 2) is release 1.02 of the software component S4CORE (i.e. product 'SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition 1709').
