2596192 - It is Not Allowed to Change Value From A to B

You are trying to edit the value of a row within a Custom Activity in Fine-Tuning.
When trying to add a row with Source Value as "B", Target Value as "B" and Description as "House" it says that it is not possible to change the Target Value.
The following error message shows up in the bottom of the screen: It is not allowed to change value from A to B

1. Go to Business Configuration Work Center
2. Go to Implementation Projects
3. Select the Implementation Project where you maintained your Activity
4. Open Activity List
5. Go to Fine-Tuning Activities and Search for the name of the Activity(for example, ABC Status Codelist)
6. Open your Custom Codelist(BCO - Business Configuration Object). For example, Codelist Mapping
7. Select Row as follows:

Source Value: A
Target Value: B
Description: House

8. Click on Delete
9. Click on Add Row
10. Add as follows:

Source Value: B
Target Value: B
Description: House

10. Click on Save and you will get the error message saying that it is not possible to change the value of Target Value

This is not a supported scenario to delete PDI delivered entry(data you have set in the .BCC file within Studio) and add a new entry with the same value for key field(field "Source Value", field type: Key, this is configured in the Business Configuration Object within Studio).

This scenario interferes with the "Restore Defaults" button in the Fine-Tuning View on frontend.

By marking an entry in the BC Set you created on SAP Cloud Applications Studio as "Can be Deleted in Fine Tuning" you would be able to delete the entry from Fine-Tuning Activity View so that value will not be visible for usage, for example, dropdown fields.

This is the current expected behavior of the system.

As a workaround you could delete and re-create the BC Set with a dummy delivered entry (marked as can be deleted in Fine-Tuning)and add valid values again in Fine-Tuning.
