2601038 - Connection from Technical Client to Cloud Integration Server Fails Due to Untrusted Server Certificate

Symptom

  • You are using a technical client to communicate with Cloud Integration (e.g. this could be a backend system sending messages to Cloud Integration or a client calling remote Cloud Integration APIs.)
  • The connection fails due to an untrusted server certificate. Error details on a Java client may contain the Exception “javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target”. The exact error message may vary depending on your client.
  • Your client is 
    • either using the Java default trust store and old Java version (before Java 8 update 91).
    • or an own trust store
