2602276 - Timeslice in module ps_dl_hilo() results in stack corruption and server crash - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE reported a timeslice error in the module ps_dl_hilo()

timeslice -501, current process infected at 40000000047cd291 (ps_dl_hilo+0xd1)

  • When a process was running the SELECT TOP 10 statement with "txt_des like'%\x0d%'" in the WHERE clause.
     
  • The stack trace following the timeslice error included functions:

  • When ASE was terminating this process, the stack and stack guardword corruptions were detected by ASE:

kernel *** Stack guardword corrupted.

kernel *** Stack corrupted, server aborting.

  • ASE server shutdown.
