2602540 - Unable to Remove Absence Counting Method from Time Type

Error below is received when trying to remove absence counting method from time type configuration:

"You cannot change the counting method because there are already employee time referencing this time type."

1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Time Off Structures or Manage Data then open an existing time type with an absence counting method assignment.

2. Remove the absence counting method assignment and attempt to save the changes. An error message is shown.

This is an expected system behavior. It is not possible to remove the configuration from time type if there were absences previously created using the counting method.

If counting method has been initially configured and it was decided at a later point to discontinue its use, recommendation is to create a new time type without the counting method and assign it to the respective time profiles then set the Enabled in ESS scenario flag for the old time type (with counting method) to restrict users from using the time type when creating time off requests in the system.

Otherwise, if counting method has only been assigned to the time type by mistake, all existing absences on the time type needs to be manually removed from the system so the references of the employee time to the time type is removed. This can be done through Import and Export functionality using the Delete operator.
