2604332 - Logon User Not Automatically Determined as Owner While Creating Accounts or Individual Customers

Symptom

You have the requirement to make the logon user set automatically as Owner (field in Account header) when creating an Account or Individual Customer, but don't know how to achieve this.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Customers work center.
  2. Click the Accounts/ Individual Customers view.
  3. Click the New button.
  4. Create a new Account / Individual Customer without filling the field Owner.
  5. Save.

The Owner field on the accounts header stays empty.

Please note that an exception exists for this behaviour for Accounts: If you have not scoped Territory Management, then the logon user will be automatically filled for a new Account.

Resolution

To achieve this requirement, you can create a workflow rule (on Administrator work center), using the action rule "Assign Me as Owner". By activating this action "On Create Only" of an account, the owner will be automatically filled with the logon user. This action can be activated for Business Objects Account/Individual Customer and Contact.
