2604820 - User conversion from Employee Profile to Employee Central

• Cannot convert a EP user to a EC user via the Add New Employee Wizard without an error.
• When using the Add New Employee Wizard in order to convert an Employee Profile user to an Employee Central user the following error occurs:

The User Id ***** already exists. Please enter a new unique value.

1. In the past, when importing the basic import file to add an employee in Employee Profile module, this employee had no data related to Employee Central.
2. It is now necessary to hire this employee to Employee Central via the Add New Employee Tool.
3. When trying to do so, the system is triggering an error explaining the User Id already exists.

• This is currently expected behavior as the employee already has information in the User Directory File, i.e. Name, Last Name, User ID.
• It is necessary to complete the hire process by importing the required templates.
• The User Directory File is shared by modules like Employee Profile, Employee Central, Platform and LMS.

1. Go to Admin Center.
2. Search for Employee Export and export the user file.
3. Open the file and filter for the userid to convert to EC data
4. Since the employee is already in this file, other tools cannot be used to hire them.
5. In a new tab, go back to Admin Center and search for Import Employee Data.
6. Download the following templates:

• Biographical Information Import
• Employment Details Import
• Job Information Import
• Personal Information
• ImportCompensation
• Information Import

7. Fill the required information and import back in the same order.

Note: If not using the import option, the only possible workaround is to purge the employee including the userid. This will remove the employee entirely from the data base. Then the Add new Hire Wizard may be used.
