2607283 - Drag And Drop Fields from Object View to Object Header Not Possible in Adaptation/Personalization

Symptom

You are trying to drag and drop a field from the object view to its header but the system does not allow you to do so.

Environment

SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the work center ABC (where ABC is a work center that has views displaying records for edition).
  2. Open the view DEF (where DEF is a view that lists records for edition).
  3. Open the object GHI (where GHI is the the object ID that you want o include fields from a view on its header).
  4. Click in Adapt/Personalize in the upper menu bar.
  5. Select Edit Master Layout/Start Personalization.
  6. Hover the mouse over the field JKL (where JKL is the field you want to see on the object header).
  7. Click on it with the left mouse button.
  8. Maintaining the click made in the previous step, try to drag the field JKL to the object header.

You notice that the system does not allow you to do so, whereas it was possible in past releases.

Cause

A restriction was implemented in the 1802 release making it not possible to drag and drop fields from the view pane to the header of the object. This is meant to avoid data inconsistencies that might occurre due to the fact that those fields do not belong to the object header.

Resolution

This is the system standard behavior. You should consider adding fields to the object header by doing the following steps:

  6. Hover the mouse over field JKL (where JKL is a field already present on the object header).
  7. Click in the plus icon.
  8. Click in the Select checkboxes of the fields that you want to see on the object header. These fields are available for inclusion on the object header.
