2608504 - DSI ERROR 1028 Explicit value must be specified for identity field in table - SRS

Symptom

  • Created a replication definition with an identity column which has a typo.
  • DSI went down with ERROR #1028:
    ERROR #1028 DSI EXEC(175(1) RDS.RDB) - dsiqmint.c(4722)       
    Message from server: Message: 585, State 1, Severity 16 -- 'Explicit value must be specified for identity field in table 'mytable' when IDENTITY_INSERT or IDENTITY_UPDATE is ON. '.
    THREAD FATAL ERROR #5049 DSI EXEC(175(1) RDS.RDB) - dsiqmint.c(4735)        
    The DSI thread for database 'RDS.RDB' is being shutdown.
    DSI received data server error #585 which is mapped to STOP_REPLICATION.
    The DSI thread for database 'RDS.RDB' is shutdown.
  • Issued an alter replication definition command to correct the misspelling
  • Didn't want to skip the transactions
