Symptom
A Customer Invoice has CCC EUR maintained as the amount for the Resulting Inventory Cost (where CCC is the amount).
You expect that the amount is taken from the Outbound Delivery or from the Customer Invoice itself.
This Resulting Inventory Cost must be BBB EUR (where BBB represents the correct Cost of the Inventory in EUR).

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Inventory Valuation Work Center.
- Go to the Master Data - Materials View.
- Show all materials, find XXX (where XXX is the material).
- Highlight Material ID XXX with Business Residence ID YYY (where YYY represents the Business Residence).
- Press View Cost History.
- Select Period ZZZ (where ZZZ represents the Period).
You can see that the Source Document ID AAA gave a Resulting Inventory Cost of BBB EUR (where AAA is the Source Document).
- Go to the Customer Invoicing Work Center.
- Go to the Invoice Documents View.
- Show all Invoice Documents, find ABC (where ABC represents the Customer Invoice).
- Press Edit and then press View All.
- Switch to the tab Pricing.
- Click Expand all.
You can see that a cost of CCC EUR.
- Go to the Sales Orders Work Center.
- Go to the Sales Orders view. and open Sales Order DDD and press View All (where DDD represents the Sales Order in question).
- Switch to the tab Pricing and Invoicing and highlight line.product ID EEE and expand it (where EEE is the respective product item).
You can see a cost of CCC EUR for the relevant date which is correct in the Sales Order itself.
Cause
This is the expected system behavior. The Material Cost is derived from the Sales Order and not from the Customer Invoice or from the Outbound Delivery.
Resolution
The system takes the Material Cost always from the Sales Order. The system works as designed.
