2609874 - BRBACKUP fails intermittently with BR0278E 'Access is denied.'

Symptom

  • BRBACKUP commands fail intermitently causing them to terminate with errors.
  • In the BRBACKUP log file, the only error messages seen are the following:
BR0278E Command output of 'brtools -f compr E:\ORACLE\<SID>\SAPDATA\SRx\SRx.DATAx F:\SIDBACKUP\bexoydze\SRx.DATAx.K':
'Access is denied.^'
BR0280I BRBACKUP time stamp: <timestamp>
BR0279E Return code from 'brtools -f compr E:\ORACLE\<SID>\SAPDATA\SRx\SRx.DATAx F:\SIDBACKUP\bexoydze\SRx.DATAx.K': 1
BR0224E Compressing E:\ORACLE\<SID>\SAPDATA\SRx\SRx.DATAx to F:\SIDBACKUP\bexoydze\SRx.DATAx.K failed due to previous errors
BR0054I BRBACKUP terminated with errors
  • In the Windows EventViewer logs, there are errors for Group Policy failed:
Error <timestamp> GroupPolicy (Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy) 1030 None
The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to retrieve new Group Policy settings for this user or computer. Look in the details tab for error code and description. Windows will automatically retry this operation at the next refresh cycle. Computers joined to the domain must have proper name resolution and network connectivity to a domain controller for discovery of new Group Policy objects and settings. An event will be logged when Group Policy is successful.
