2610495 - Setup of ASE HADR Standby DB fails on NWPRELOAD script with error "The specified password is too short" - SAP ASE BS

Symptom

  •  Doing a setup of HADR environment using SWPM, below error printed when installing standby site.

Assertion failed: Unable to work with the database script nwpreload

  • In sapinst_dev.log, below error is displayed.

syb_isql_pipe: Changing the value of 'enable encrypted columns' to '1' increases the amount of memory ASE uses by 4100 K.

syb_isql_pipe: State: ZZZZZ Error: 10317

TRACE      xxx (xxx\xxx) (startInstallation)
syb_isql_pipe: The specified password is too short. Passwords must be at least 6 character(s) long.

  • If Primary DB is installed without "Enable full database encryption" checked, this error will not happen during Standby installation.
