Symptom

The database went down and you see the following information inside the alert.log:

ORA-63999: data file suffered media failure
ORA-01114: IO error writing block to file 1013 (block # 2113792)
ORA-01110: data file 1013: '/oracle/<SID>/sapdata2/temp_10/temp.data10'
ORA-27072: File I/O error
HPUX-ia64 Error: 28: No space left on device
Additional information: 4
Additional information: 2113792
Additional information: -1
DBW3 (ospid: 5439): terminating the instance due to error 63999

PS: all numbers, except for the ORA error, may vary from system to system. The error will never be exactly the same.
