2611940 - Employee Profiles Cannot Be Combined After Hire - Employee Central

Symptom

An employee was hired from Manage Pending Hires, but the administrator did not select Accept Match when a matching person was identified. As a result, a new employee profile was created, and there are now two separate employee profiles representing the same employee.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Resolution

Employee profiles cannot be combined after they have been created in the system.

If an employee was hired and the Accept Match or Rehire with New Employment option was not selected, resulting in a new employee profile being created, there is no mechanism to merge or combine the two employee profiles after hire.

To correct the situation:

  1. Identify the employee profile that should not be retained.
  2. Purge the incorrectly created employee profile from the system - Permanently Deleting Purged Users and User IDs
  3. Rehire the employee using one of the following options:
    • Rehire with Old Employment by selecting Accept Match and proceeding with the existing employment record.
    • Rehire with New Employment, if a new employment relationship is required.

The appropriate rehire method should be selected based on the customer's business requirements and employment history.
