2612258 - A Copied Maintenance Plan Is Not Generating the Same Tickets As the Original One

Symptom

When coping a Maintenance Plan the system is not generating the same Tickets as the original one.

Environment

SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer 1802/02.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Installed Base work center.
  2. Select the Maintenance Plan view.
  3. Search for the Maintenance Plan ABC (ABC represents the name of the Maintenance Plan).
  4. Open it and click on Actions and then select Simulate Run, X tickets will appear (X represents the number of tickets that will appear).
  5. Now Open the Maintenance Plan XYZ, which is a copy from the Maintenance Plan ABC. (XYZ represents the name of the Maintenance Plan).
  6. Click on Actions and then select Simulate Run, no tickets will appear.

Cause

The Copy action copies the details of a Maintenance Plan such as the Ticket Template and the Maintenance Items. This copy will result in a Maintenance Plan which has no relation with the original one. The tickets created for same covered object in different Maintenance Plans will vary depending upon the plan definition of the Maintenance Plans involved.

Resolution

This is the expected behavior for the Maintenance Plans. In case you believe a different behavior should exist for this feature, then please submit an idea at: https://influence.sap.com/SAPCloudforCustomer.
