Symptom
User has more than one revision of a course assigned. When completing the later revision, the previous one was removed from the user's learning plan and marked as completed too.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Assign more than one revision of a course to a user >
- User completes the later revision >
- The previous revision is also removed from the user's learning plan and marked as completed.
Cause
"Completion of later Item revision grants credit for previous revision assignment in Curricula" is enabled in the Learning Administration > System Administration > Configuration > Global Application Settings > "Global Application Settings" tab.
Resolution
When "Completion of later Item revision grants credit for previous revision assignment in Curricula" is enabled, users who complete the later version of a course will have the previous version removed from their learning plan and marked as completed. This applies to free-floating courses, and courses that are part of a curricula.
If the completion of the later version of the course was granted via substitute credit, this setting doesn't apply.
The configuration isn't retroactive, and its effects are effective from the date the change was made. Completions granted or not granted before the change won't have any impact, only completions granted after it will.
Note: The “Completion of later Item revision grants credit for previous revision assignment in Curricula” setting will be renamed to “Completion of later Item revision grants credit for previous revision assignment” and this is planned for the 2605 system version. Its behavior will remain the same, as explained above.
