2613393 - Key Position Setting in Position Card

Symptom

  • Key Position/Critical Position settings in Position Card
  • If you have the appropriate permissions, you can change the key position attribute of a position directly from the position card without having to enter the full edit position dialog.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development

Resolution

HR users often need to maintain "key position" attributes, but are not allowed or don't need to edit any other attributes of the position. So far the "key position" attribute is just one field in the overall "edit position" dialog. It should now be added as separate edit feature within the Header section of Position Card, which is visible in SOCv12 and Position tile view.

Permission handling:

Legacy position:

Administrative Privileges > Manage Users > Change User Information (on/off; does not limit scope)

OR

Succession Planning Permission (limits scope to defined population)

MDF Position:
Position: depends on “correct” permission for object, and on the field permission for “positionCriticality” (field level overrides: no access -> info not visible at all; read only -> The dropdown box must appear visually in a "non-editable" mode.

1: Go the required role via Manage Permission Roles

2: Click on Permission and go to Miscellaneous Permission and look for Position Object

3: Give Read Access (for view only access of Key Position on Talent Card) or No Access (for no access of Key Position on Talent Card), as below:

Note 1: Giving 'Correct' permission for the MDF Position Object will also allow access to the 'Manage' section on the Position Card.

Note 2: If the "picklist" and "picklist value" objects are set as secured, then access to these object must also be granted.
