2613619 - Error 'Employee ABC Does Not Exist' in Migration of Customers

Symptom

When you try to migrate customers, you receive below error in Simulate step, even though this employee is already registered in the system:

'Employee ABC does not exist' (ABC represents the name of the employee)

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign 1802 and higher.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center, in Overview view.
  2. Search for Migration of Customers activity and open it.
  3. Click on "Migrate customers using migration tool".
  4. Select the migration template.
  5. Click on Execute Migration, then Step by step.
  6. Receive error on Simulate step.

Cause

In the Employee Responsible field, you've specified either the full name or user ID of the responsible employee, whereas the field only accepts the Employee ID.

Resolution

In order to properly inform the responsible employee, please specify the employee ID in the field.

The employee ID can be found as follows:

  1. Go to Personnel Administration work center;
  2. Go to Employees view.
